Halloween on 6th Street is an annual event that takes place in Austin that is not for the faint of heart. Tens of thousands of people gather on the popular strip for a night of fun and excitement. This street is home to several of Austin’s most famous bars and the downtown Halloween celebration gets underway early. Come early if you want to bring along the kids for costume fun. There is a midnight curfew for ages 16 and under who are in the area without a parent. The annual event typically takes place on Halloween night and can last throughout the weekend depending on the day of the week the 31st of October falls on each year.
As one of the biggest Halloween festivals in Austin, you’ll get to see see BMX riders, live band performances, and funny comedians take the stage. Additional activities include a costume contest ranging from the freakiest to the hottest.
