We recently helped a client remodel and stage a house that had been a long-term rental property. While it wasn’t in bad shape, it had always lacked charm, had little curb appeal, and we were worried that even in a strong seller’s market that it might not sell for top dollar. Here are the results. Exterior and interior paint, a few new lighting fixtures, replacing carpet and adding a deck. The total for all items was less than $10,000 and we raised the price by $25,000 for a net profit of $15,000.

Was it worth it to stage even in a hot seller’s market? I think you’ll agree that the answer is yes. It is also so important to clean your home thoroughly for example by using the devices on the Bissell website, check it out. Even when it’s a hot market, homes that look great, always sell for more.
